Eddie Murphy quits as host of next year's Oscars

American comedian and actor, Eddie Murphy has resigned as host of the Oscars scheduled for February 26th next year.

Eddie’s resignation comes as a result of the decision of his partner, Brett Ratner, who resigned from producing the 2012 show yesterday.

President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, who are behind the ceremony, Tom Sherak, says they appreciate Eddie Murphy’s feeling about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and wish him well.
